As the 2025–2026 school year comes to a close, we are reflecting on a year of record growth and impact.
This year, Anne Frank Center USA reached more students, educators, and communities than ever before through performances, educator programs, special events, and public presentations that bring to life Anne Frank’s story and lessons about prejudice, empathy, and civic responsibility.
Programs By the Numbers
- 79 performances presented across 10 states
- 16,229 audience members reached
- 5 educator residency programs in New York schools
- 7 special events, including an Anne Frank sapling dedication
- 10 guest lectures and seminars presented by CEO Dr. Lauren Bairnsfather
In addition, this year we also:
- Established an ensemble of actors and theater educators in Arizona as a model for city-based expansion
- Launched @AnneFrankLifeStory on Instagram and TikTok
The Impact Behind the Numbers
Independent evaluations conducted throughout the year demonstrated meaningful growth in students’ understanding of prejudice, empathy, and antisemitism after participating in Anne Frank Center USA programs.
Students reported stronger confidence in identifying and challenging prejudice, greater empathy for those targeted by discrimination, and increased willingness to engage with people from different backgrounds.
Perhaps most encouraging, 4th and 5th graders participating in “Conversations with Anne” showed some of the strongest gains, reinforcing the importance of introducing these lessons early.
Looking Ahead
The need for education that builds empathy, combats antisemitism, and helps students recognize the dangers of prejudice remains as urgent as ever.
We are now scheduling programs for the 2026–2027 school year, including:

Letters from Anne & Martin (grades 6+)
Plenty of Courage (grades 9+)
Educator residencies and workshops
Guest lectures and community programs
