Francesca Fernandez

Francesca Fernandez is an actor, educator, and theater worker from the San Francisco Bay Area based in New York City. Acting Credits in NYC: Roundabout Theatre Company, Ensemble Studio Theatre, The Brick, Pipeline Theatre Co., 59E59, Daryl Roth Theater, Ant Fest at Ars Nova, and Center at Park West. Regionally: Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Studio Theatre D.C., Dorset Theatre Festival, KCRep, CalShakes, Southern Rep, Mu Theater, Two Rivers Theater, Magic Theater, Cleveland Playhouse, and Milwaukee Rep. TV/Film: “Thumb,” “Law & Order: SVU,” “Blue Bloods,” and PBS’ Great Performances recording of the play “Gloria: A Life.” While getting her MFA in acting at Yale School of Drama, she was a co-Artistic Director of Yale Cabaret in its 50th season. In 2015, she was featured in American Theater Magazine as a “Theater Worker You Should Know.” She co-founded Encompass Collective NYC, which is a community engaged in principled struggle for a liberated actor practice to cultivate a better future for global majority storytellers in the theater, film, and TV industry. She has previously taught at The New School, Yale University, A.C.T., La Mama/Trinity College, Waterwell, Urban Arts Partnership, Dwight/Edgewood Project, Play/Write, KID SmART, and the Edible Schoolyard NOLA.
