Michele Nordi Hern
Art of Self-Discovery Teaching Artist
Michele Nordi Hern was raised on an agricultural farm near the New Jersey Shore and has been a Bay Ridge, Brooklyn resident for over 30 years. She is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design and is a working and teaching artist. The lessons and values that she practices in her classes are deeply rooted in providing a safe and supportive environment where students are encouraged to take safe creative risks, share ideas and praise, and mistakes are welcomed as opportunities. She is currently practicing in both watercolor and dry media on paper as well as fabric. Her childhood experience of growing up in a farming community and having a profound awe of our natural world is a passionately pronounced undercurrent in her work. She is a proud artisan member of the New York Handmade Collective and The Art Students League of New York.
