Art of Self-Discovery Teaching Artist
Rasheeda L. Johnson is a multidisciplinary artist and founder of Analog Art NYC LLC based in Brooklyn, NY. A scholarship to Saturday art classes at the Carnegie Museum of Art in her hometown, Pittsburgh, PA, sparked her passion for visual art at an early age. She later landed an academic scholarship to the Fashion Institute of Technology where she earned her degree in advertising design. Johnson went on to work in various creative fields with over 10 years as a wardrobe and art professional for film and also worked as a Display Artist, designing and fabricating window and in-store displays for various retail companies. While working in these roles, Johnson freelanced as a facilitator of youth and multigenerational programs as a Teaching Artist which she currently does for a major museum. Throughout her various careers, she’s been intentional with creating her personal work as a Visual Artist; mainly a portrait artist, Johnson is currently focused on public/mural art. Her paintings have been featured in several group exhibitions in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Maryland and New York City, and her mural work can be viewed in public spaces throughout the 5 boroughs.
