Shannon Gonyou

Attorney, writer, community advisor

Shannon Gonyou is an attorney with nearly a decade of experience advising companies and non-profits on litigation, regulatory affairs, contracts, and compliance. She graduated from the University of Michigan Law School in 2017, and before that earned a B.A. in political science from the University of Michigan.  Shannon is also a Jewish content writer and has published numerous articles about Jewish life and holidays, as well as a memoir called Since Sinai.  Shannon serves as the secretary of the Jim Toy Community Center and serves on the advancement committee of a small Midwestern day school. Shannon has lived in Ann Arbor, Chicago, and New York City. She is currently located in Ann Arbor with her five-year-old daughter, Ora, and her partner, Hannah. In her free time, Shannon enjoys training for half marathons on behalf of team Hope Story, reading romance novels, international travel, and baking desserts with her daughter.
